This is EXACTLY my experience. It just randomly stops processing the scanned images. These are thick books so there is no way that I can make the pages “flat” to be able to use other than the face to face page scan. I have an email into their support team. Also using a MacBook with Sierra.

But that is a whole different story. CZUR states that the Wifi connection only works in combination with the CZUR app for smartphones, while all cables except the power cable are disconnected. In order to connect the scanner to the cloud you need to install the app, create a CZUR account and connect the scanner to the account. There is no workaround for that, although customer service says it is possible to use the scanner in my local network. That is dissappointing as I want to use the scanner without connecting it to the cloud. On the other hand, the cloud functionality is well-developed as it converts scanned pages to PDF documents in seconds. The website Teleread has dived into the cloud functionality and describes the pros and cons of the CZUR cloud here. […]

My experience is very mixed.
Sometimes the book comes out as it ought (flattened and cut).
But other times it messes it all up: f.ex. 4 pages are OK, then it continues with simple pictures (no flattening, finger tips visible) or distorts some pages. Then it may return to OK pictures. Without me interrupting the process in any way.
I must say that I´m less than satisfied with the book scanning part.

Flat pages works just fine. So does OCR.

Thanks for that review. I’ve put this thing in and taken it out of my Amazon shopping cart so many times I think I’ve worn out my mouse. Anyway, your review was much more helpful than the ones I read earlier. I need to be able to quickly get information from paper to text (OCR) for accessibility for visually impaired persons. I also wanted something that I could use for documents around my house and office to keep my life paperless. This does sound like a good option, particularly compared to what I’ve already tried.
